Alex Ostrow, Clinician/Coach
Alex Ostrow, MA, Clinician/Coach at Riser+Tread, holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Management from UMass Amherst. Alex then discovered his passion for the field of mental health counseling and earned a Master’s degree from Bridgewater State University. Using a collaborative approach, Alex helps clients find their drive and navigate life’s many challenges and difficult decisions. Alex has experience working with clients of all ages and especially enjoys working with adolescents and young adults and helping them find their path forward. Alex’s main objective is to help clients overcome their anxiety and depression in order to achieve their goals and find their passions in life.
Alex’s experience working in a high school setting allowed him to support students on social, emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns and the pressures they face. His experience working in the outpatient mental health realm afforded him the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients looking for support with anxiety, OCD, depression, stress, ADHD, self-esteem, anger, trauma, and interpersonal relationships.
With a varied background both in and out of the mental health field, Alex strives to be his client’s biggest supporter and draw from a wide range of personal experiences. He uses a variety of therapeutic interventions in his work including CBT, mindfulness practice, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Coaching. Alex has personally benefited from mindfulness practice in his life and enjoys teaching his clients how to develop their own mindfulness based skills.
Alex is also an avid golfer and enjoys working with athletes of all kinds to build their mental strength skills and help maximize their performance both on and off the field. Since the beginning of 2024, Alex has worked as a Mental Skills Coach at the Kohr Elite Golf Academy, helping golfers to learn how improving their mental skills and strategies can profoundly impact their game.
