Jayson LaRiviere, Clinician/Coach
Jayson LaRiviere, M.S., Clinician/Coach at Riser+Tread, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Plymouth State University, spending time working in both recruiting and marketing roles before making a career change and returning to school to pursue his passion for counseling. Jayson graduated from Lesley University with his M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has over five years of experience in the field.
Prior to Riser+Tread, Jayson acquired valuable experience working with adolescents during his time at Bedford High School, within their sub-separate and inclusive social-emotional learning programs. He conducted individual and group counseling for students with anxiety, ASD, and depression. Jayson also spent time at the community behavioral health clinic, Vinfen, where he worked with a wide demographic of adults who had experienced trauma, substance use disorders, and schizophrenia.
Jayson believes that taking a holistic approach to counseling is paramount, incorporating the various external, environmental, spiritual and social factors into his sessions. Jayson utilizes a multitude of counseling techniques such as Person Centered Therapy (PCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Music Therapy to best serve his clients. He is passionate about building self-identity and leveraging resiliency and support systems to promote the personal growth and development of those he works with. Jayson also brings the same passion for coaching techniques and focuses on accomplishing steps needed to make progress towards the overall goal, drawing on his own coaching experience.
As a former collegiate lacrosse captain, Jayson enjoys physical activities such as lacrosse, basketball, snowboarding, and weight-lifting. When he is not coaching or at the gym, Jayson can be found enjoying music, podcasts, or fishing on the various lakes in the Northern Mass/Southern New Hampshire area.
