Rob Hoover, LCSW
Director of Client Coordination
Rob Hoover, LCSW, received his MSW from Salem State University and has over five years of experience in the field. In addition to being a Clinician/Coach, Rob is also the Director of Client Coordination, helping new clients identify the best fit to get started with therapy/coaching at Riser+Tread.
Prior to Riser+Tread, Rob has worked as a Mental Health Specialist at Salem Hospital, and as a part of Beverly Hospital’s multi-disciplinary High-Risk Intervention Team. Leveraging these experiences, Rob is comfortable having difficult conversations, and excels at creating a safe, comforting space for young men facing the challenges of anxiety and depression. Having formerly interned at Riser+Tread throughout his Masters education, Rob expanded his clinical experience to coaching with a strong emphasis on adolescents with ADHD, often blending therapeutic and coaching techniques to improve client outcomes.
With a strong focus on evidence-based practices, Rob believes the quality of the relationship with the client to be essential. His personal work with mindfulness informs his holistic, person-centered approach to care, with an emphasis on acceptance, openness, and non-judgment. He uses a blend of approaches in helping clients achieve their goals, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths-Based and Solutions-Focused Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He has worked successfully with clients working through grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance abuse, and a variety of other mental health concerns.
When not at work or the gym, Rob enjoys spending time with his family and dog in one of northern Massachusetts’s many woodland trails, is an avid cook, and enjoys card/board/video games.
