Ted Andrews, Clinician/Coach
Ted Andrews earned his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Sport Psychology from Boston University, and has over 13 years of experience in the field. Prior to joining Riser + Tread, he served as a Mental Performance Consultant for both male and female collegiate athletes at all levels across a range of sports. Additionally, he served as a Clinical Intern at Walden Behavioral Care, where he supported adolescents in their recovery from eating disorders. His work at Walden involved leading both group and individual sessions, providing meal coaching and emotional support during challenging meal times, as well as coordinating care with parents and families.
After nearly a decade of work in strength and conditioning, coaching athletes from complete beginners to those at the professional level and Olympic level, Ted decided to pursue his interest in mental health care with a goal of offering a therapeutic relationship that meets the needs of athletes and young men. Ted offers a person-centered approach to therapy, aiding clients in finding self-love and self-confidence, as well as personal growth through insight, goal setting, and acceptance. He works to create a therapeutic space that is open and welcoming for clients to speak freely, and draws upon a variety of evidence-based strategies, coaching and sport psychology techniques, as well as humor to support clients in their counseling journey.
In his spare time, Ted enjoys cooking (taking special interest in perfecting the home pizza), competing in the sport of weightlifting, and spending time outside with his dog, Kiba. Ted also loves spending time with friends and family, keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and traveling.
